Jiaogulan (part 2)
In my previous post we talked about the vasodilatory effects of Jiaogulan and the benefits that has for lowering blood pressure, improving mental function and athletic performance. Now I’d like to talk a little about the adaptogenic benefits of Jiaogulan.
I’ll explain more about adaptogens in a later post but the short definition is a substance, usually an herb, which aids the body in self-regulation. According to scientific research, jiaogulan is the most full spectrum natural adaptogen known.
Jiaogulan’s adaptogenic properties are the result its influence on the nuero-endocrine system. This system maintains a delicate balance amongst your hormones and metabolism. When something gets out of whack in one part of the system there is a cascading effect in many parts of the body.
