Advice Video

(VIDEO TRANSCRIPT)

 Hi,

Can you help with something, please. I need the answer to a really obvious question.

Why do you buy from Immortalitea?

I’m taking a course on Google advertising. The instructor advises to put in the ad our “Unique Selling Proposition.” In other words, why should someone buy from us instead of someone else?

That makes perfect sense to me. But I’ve been sitting here in front of my computer for a while now and I haven't written any new ads. Let me give a little background for why I’m stuck.

When I started this company 12 years ago, the answer was easy. We were virtually the only people in North America selling the herbs we sell, mostly, jiaogulan and white mulberry. We had these amazing healing herbs that no one new about.

My “marketing,” if you can call it that, was just telling people about the herbs we sell. I guess that was our “Unique Selling Proposition.”

But, things have changed. I’m proud that we’ve been instrumental in creating a market for our herbs. Lot’s of other sellers have jumped on board. I believe in abundance. I’m happy that my efforts have helped in create livelihoods for so many people.

But now I have this marketing problem.

Now there are dozens of companies selling jiaogulan and white mulberry. Some of those people are really good at marketing. Instead of explaining to people why they should buy, for example, jiaogulan, now I need to explain why they should buy jiaogulan from us. It’s a change in message that just hadn’t occurred to me until today.

The proud company founder in my head immediately starts shouting all the reasons. (I just started to list a few but I don’t want to influence your answer.) But I just looked at my competitor’s ads and honestly, everybody says similar things about their herbs.

Then it hit me that instead of trying to be clever wordsmith (which I definitely am not) maybe there is an easy way to find out why people buy from us, to ask you why you buy from us.

So, I’m asking for your advice. Below is the link to a survey. If you will please click the link and answer the questions, it would mean the world to me.

I want to warn you in advance, this is not one of those easy multiple-choice surveys. I really want your advice and multiple-choice surveys lock you into a pre-defined set of assumed answers. I’m honestly asking what you think.

Have I scared you off yet? I hope not.

Click this button to start the survey.

As always, thanks for being such an awesome customer and all around great person.

Wishing you an abundance of all good things,

Ralph
